How Nowambee works.
Short answers to the things people ask most. Can't find yours? Email hello@nowambee.com.
What is Nowambee?
Nowambee is a social app for making friends, exchanging languages, and discovering cultures. Instead of swiping through profiles, you meet people through small daily moments and shared-interest communities.
Is Nowambee a dating app?
No. Nowambee is built for friendship, language exchange and culture — not dating. There's no swiping, no matching games and no public scoring. People connect around what they share.
How do I create an account?
Download Nowambee from the App Store or Google Play, sign up with your email, and complete a short profile. You can start exploring moments and communities right away.
Does it cost anything?
Nowambee is free to join and use. If paid features are ever added, they'll always be clearly marked before you choose them.
What is a moment?
A moment is a small, honest share from your day — a photo or a few words, usually answering the shared daily prompt. Moments are how other people discover you, instead of a polished profile.
Who can see my moments?
You choose the audience for each moment — it can be public (so new people can discover you), shared with your connections, or shared with a hand-picked crew. Moments are time-limited and fade after a short window.
What's the daily prompt?
Everyone sees the same gentle prompt each day — a small question to share around. It keeps things low-pressure: you're answering a question, not performing for a feed.
How do connections work?
When you'd like to talk to someone, you send a connection request. A direct chat opens only once both people have connected — so no one can message you uninvited. You can decline a request, and either person can disconnect later.
How do I message someone?
You can reply to someone's moment to break the ice, or send a connection request. Once you're connected, your conversation lives in Chats alongside your other chats and community rooms.
What is a crew?
A crew is a small, private circle of your connections that you can share certain moments with — a closer audience than "all connections", chosen by you.
What are communities?
Communities are rooms built around a shared interest — a language, a hobby, a place. You can read along, join the chat, and meet members who care about the same thing.
How do I join or create one?
Open Communities, find one that fits, and tap to join (some ask the moderator to approve first). To start your own, use "New community", give it a name and topic, and optionally invite a few people to begin.
Who can post in a community?
Members can post in the community chat and start topics. Moderators can manage the room — editing details, managing members, and keeping things on track.
How do I block or report someone?
Open the person's profile or your chat with them and choose Block or Report. Blocking stops all interaction between you both ways. Reports go to our safety review — please report anything that breaks the rules or makes you uncomfortable.
What content is not allowed?
Nowambee has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior — including harassment, hate speech, threats, nudity or sexual content, and anything illegal. By using Nowambee you agree not to post objectionable content or behave abusively. We remove violating content and suspend or permanently remove users who break these rules. Use Report to flag content and Block to stop contact with any user.
How is my privacy protected?
Your profile is limited before you connect, connections are always mutual, and you control who sees each moment. For the full picture of what we collect and why, read the privacy policy.
How do I edit my profile?
Open the Profile tab and tap edit. You can update your photo, name, bio and the details you choose to share.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → account settings → delete account. Deletion is scheduled with a short grace period (about 30 days) during which you can change your mind by signing back in. After the grace period, your account and personal data are permanently removed.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose "Forgot password" and enter your email. You'll get a link to reset it.
