Privacy policy

This policy explains what Nowambee collects, why, and the choices you have. Nowambee is operated by Rasim Tuğberk İnci ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email privacy@nowambee.com.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run Nowambee:
- Account details — your email address and a password (stored securely by our authentication provider), and the sign-in metadata needed to keep your account safe.
- Profile information — the name, photo, bio and any optional details you choose to add.
- Content you create — your moments, messages, community posts, connection activity and the people you connect with.
- Community & connection data — communities you join or create, and your connection requests and connections.
- Device & notification data — a push-notification token for your device so we can deliver alerts, plus basic technical data (app version, device type, language).
- Diagnostics & usage — crash reports and aggregate usage analytics that help us fix problems and improve the app.
We do not ask for, and Nowambee is not built to collect, sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily put in your profile or content.
How we use it
- to create and run your account and show you moments, communities and chats;
- to deliver connection requests, messages and push notifications;
- to keep the community safe — reviewing reports, blocking, and acting on abuse;
- to fix crashes, prevent fraud and improve the service;
- to meet legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), we rely on performing our agreement with you, your consent where asked, our legitimate interest in a safe and working service, and compliance with the law.
Who we share with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run our infrastructure — principally Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, push messaging, crash reporting and analytics), which processes data on our behalf under its terms.
- Other people on Nowambee — but only what you choose to share: your profile to people who can see it, your moments to the audience you pick, and your messages to the people you're connected with or community members in a room.
- Authorities — when we're legally required to, or to protect people's safety.
International transfers
Our providers may process and store data on servers outside your country (for example, in the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect your data when it's transferred.
Retention & account deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and as long as we need it for the purposes above. You can delete your account from the app at any time (Profile → account settings → delete account).
Deletion runs with a short grace period (about 30 days), during which signing back in cancels it. After the grace period, your account and personal data are permanently deleted, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons, and except for content already received by other people (such as a message they've kept).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and KVKK), you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it (you can do most of this yourself by deleting your account);
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable form;
- complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access controls and a trusted infrastructure provider — to protect your data. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Children
Nowambee isn't for people under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy as Nowambee evolves. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
