Child safety standards

Nowambee has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves and our community to, how we prevent and act on the endangerment of minors, and how anyone can report a concern. Nowambee is operated by Rasim Tuğberk İnci ("we", "us").

Our commitment

Nowambee is a social app for friendship, language exchange and cultural discovery among adults. The safety of minors matters to us even though our service is not intended for them. We are committed to preventing, detecting and removing CSAE and CSAM, and to cooperating with law enforcement and child-protection organisations. We keep these standards public, current and enforceable.

What is prohibited

The following are strictly forbidden on Nowambee and result in immediate removal and, where required, a report to the authorities:

• Any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — images, video, text or links that sexualise a minor.
• Grooming, solicitation or sextortion of a minor, or any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes.
• Trafficking, endangerment or the sexualisation of anyone under 18.
• Sharing, requesting or promoting any of the above, on or off the platform.

Minimum age

Nowambee is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Sign-up includes an age gate, and accounts we find to belong to a minor are removed. If you believe a minor is using Nowambee, please report it using the steps below.

How we enforce these standards

• In-app reporting on every surface — any profile, message, moment or community post can be reported from its menu. Reports go to a private moderation queue.
• Moderation & action — our team reviews reports and can remove content and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules.
• Blocking — you can block anyone instantly, which cuts off contact.
• Removal & preservation — CSAM is removed on discovery, and relevant data is preserved where needed for a report to the authorities.

How to report a concern

You can report a child-safety concern in more than one way:

• In the app — open the menu (three dots) on any profile, message, moment or community post and choose Report. You can also reach us from Settings → Safety.
• By email — write to safety@nowambee.com with as much detail as you can.
• In an emergency — if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or law enforcement first.

We review child-safety reports as a priority and act quickly.

Reporting to authorities

When we identify CSAM or credible endangerment of a child, we act on it and report it to the appropriate authorities — including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant national or regional law-enforcement bodies — in line with applicable law. We cooperate with lawful requests from these authorities.

Legal compliance

Nowambee complies with the child-safety laws that apply to our service and reports to regional and national authorities as required. These standards are designed to meet Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and the broader legal obligations that apply to online services.
